Workshop #7 – Hosted by Unisannio

Unisannio organized the seventh BeComE workshop on 20 and 21 January 2022. The Head of the Department of Law, Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods (DEMM), Professor Massimo Squillante, welcomed all the participants. Angelo Riviezzo, Gilda Antonelli, Filomena Pagnozzi, members of the Unisannio led the workshop.

In the first part of the workshop, Urve Venesaar, the PI of BeComE, reviewed the work packages contents and goals, and Marianne Kallaste presented the financial report. Next, we discussed the next steps in developing workplaces as learning environments. This was a discussion led by Petri Nokelainen, from TAU, and focused on the results of their study with employees in different countries on eight variables (Participation and understanding of the workplace; task performance; access to resources to help to learn; judgment, decision making, problem solving, and reflection; experience and task transition; recognition as a learner; recognition as an expert; and organizational development. Following the presentation, there was a discussion in breakout rooms.

Next, we discussed the cooperation between universities and companies to support the development of entrepreneurship competencies. This lively discussion included the university partners and the company partners, which was useful for confronting both perspectives.

The day ended with a presentation about the dissemination strategy for companies led by Henrique Duarte (ISCTE-IUL), and a closing and “virtual goodbye toast” led by the hosts from UNISANNIO.

On the second day, January 21, we proceeded with discussing the progress of the work and the deliverables to be prepared in the coming months. We carefully discussed the progress in each one of the Working Packages and decided the next steps. These are exciting times for the BeComE project, and we are excited about new and innovative ideas for project activities. The day ended again with a virtual toast. It is time to celebrate our achievements so far and toast the upcoming successful months.
