Introducing BeComE project in the Estonian Scientists’ Night Festival

The Scientists’ Night Festival is the largest series of events popularizing science in Estonia (and the entire Baltics), funded by the European Commission. As part of this, the BeComE team members and Taltech lecturers Katrin Arvola and Marianne Kallaste conducted a Business Idea Development workshop on the 24th of September 2021.

The focus of this workshop was to support the development of entrepreneurial behavior of participants through embedding the development of entrepreneurship competence into the entrepreneurship process, particularly on the phase of the development of the business model. During the workshop, the logic and value proposition of the business model, as well as the structure of the entrepreneurship competence model, was introduced. The participants discussed what are important sub-competencies for supporting entrepreneurial attitude and behaviour. A special emphasis was given to cooperation and communication competencies. The methodology used by BeComE partners in universities was customized for younger students at the workshop. The experience of piloting the guidelines of teaching and learning entrepreneurship competence in BeComE partner universities was helpful also at the workshop.

To conclude the evening, a fun and educational teamwork exercise was conducted to help participants to notice the different aspects of working with others, because entrepreneurial people never act alone.
